As I was creating Almost Daily Videos. I asked my family for some ideas of what to draw and paint next. My niece, Cameron, requested a unicorn. Since I was still in my ‘camel’ phase, I made it a camel unicorn, a.k.a. Camelcorn!

Gelli prints. I am just beginning to explore this fun printmaking technique. The best way to learn how to do it is to do it! So I am doing many and making plenty of mistakes! But mistakes mean I am trying! I love being a beginner!

This is the camel that started my camel painting series. 🐪

He was such a great model that I took tons of reference photos in different poses. This piece is fairly large for me, about 18×24 on Bristol board. I began with watercolor pencils (determined to finally love them!), but halfway through realized they’re better suited to smaller work… so I switched back to my watercolor palette.

You can still see the blue underdrawing, which helped influence those colorful shadows. Shadows are often far more colorful than we think. Next time you notice one, take a closer look. Or exaggerate it a little, like I did.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Ireland holds such special memories for me. First, touring with Ron many years ago, and later returning on a painting trip. So many greens, so many sheep, and some of the friendliest people anywhere.

This painting is a little piece of those beautiful Irish memories. If it speaks to you, feel free to reach out. I’d love for it to find a good home.

"If Walls Could Talk"

This was painted on a street corner of a village in Ireland, nestled in the charming seaside village of Bally Castle, County Mayo. The stone walls were ancient, and I know they have witnessed so much history as the village changed and grew. If they could only talk!

Process from my recent bookbinding class. We worked on the link stitch. Here are samples from me and my students. If you are familiar with my work, you know I love filling these journals up with art from traveling and home life. It's just as fun to teach this practice to others.
