Watercolor Plein Air Sketching Introduction Workshop
Saturday, October 7, 10am.—1p.m.
(Raindate—Sunday, October 8, 1p.m.—4p.m.)

Accotink Creek at Byron Ave Park, Springfield, VA

Instructor: Marni Maree
Have you wanted to paint outdoors but felt intimidated? Or you tried and felt overwhelmed by too much to paint and too much stuff? In this workshop you will learn what you really need to sketch and paint outdoors. The idea is to pare down to the bare essentials so you can be on the move quickly and easily with your supplies readily available at a moment’s notice when the opportunity presents itself. Once ready, we will find treasures to draw, record and paint, learning to “see” and “simplify” what appears complex.
This painterly ‘note taking’ can be used for a more in-depth, full-size painting or “as is.”
Fee: $40.00

Supply list will be sent at Registration but Watercolor Field Kits are available for $15 at the workshop. Kit contains EVERYTHING you will need to paint for 3 hours + (except a chair, bug spray and sun!) I highly recommend this compact and useful kit containing my favorite travel supplies. LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT A KIT!

Yippee Yupo Returns!
January 13, 9:30 am – 3:30 pm
In this workshop you will paint with watercolor on yupo which is a sheet of plastic meant for painting. The paint slips and slides and blends and puddles. It is great for creating textures and is always fun and surprising to see what happens.  I will have reference/inspirational photos but you can bring some of your own as well. Some watercolor experience is helpful, but not necessary. ALL levels are welcome.
Some supplies are needed.  Supply list given at registration.
